This lovely and skilled warrior was once an old
friend
of Rita's, who strikes fear into the hearts of even those who fight by
her side. She was called back to the palace as one phase of the
empress'
master plan involving the Green Power Coin. She was the secret weapon;
a way to insure victory over the Rangers. Once the Green Ranger
abandoned
the darkness, Scorpina still remained as an addition to the alien amry.
She is a master of hand-to-hand combat and carries
a curved sword for assistance. If needed, she also has an energy attack
known as her 'sting'.When instructed to grow, Scorpina's beauty fades
as
she takes on the form of a giant scorpion. Once the transfermation
occurs,
she is able to attack by firing blasts from her claw and using her tail
to sting victims. No matter the form, this lady is lethal.
Scorpina is a very quiet and mysterious woman. In
battle,
she speaks hardly a word, set only on accomplishing her mission. Her
thoughts
and fears are unknown to all but herself.
Scorpina can often be found by Goldar's side. The
two of them have a very strong, yet unspoken bond. It is clear they
would
give their lives for each other and there may have even been romantic
feelings
between them. They were partners in battle and wore matching armor. But
it seems whatever feelings they may have had for one another will stay
locked behind that armor for all time.
Once Lord Zedd took over the palace, Scorpina
vanished.
She was seen or spoken of again until Zedd called upon her for one last
mission. She was to seduce the Black Ranger and lure him into a trap.
But
when faced with the possibility of her own destruction at the hands of
the Thunder Ultrazord, the warrior woman disappeared once more; never
again
to lend her service to Zedd or Rita. Her fight with the Rangers had
ended
as suddenly as it began.
Interesting Facts:
- Scorpina is a character made almost exclusively of
recycled Sentai
Zyuranger
footage. Her character name in Japan was Lami.
- She and Goldar's characters were married in Sentai.
- She can take the form of a giant bolder.
- Scorpina's voice actress was also the voice of
Alpha-6 (post PRT)
- Scorpina is one of my favorite villains of all time!
I loved her from
the
first time I saw her!
