Zeltrax is a lethal warrior of the scientist, Messagog.
His weapons include a blue-bladed sword and a shield. When not in battle,
Zeltrax can be seen alongside Elsa, who he secretly has feelings for. Though
he denies it, even to himself, he often finds himself jelious of Elsa's
undercover activity with Tommy. And though the two bicker at times, Zeltrax
will come to Elsa's aid at any given moment, after failing their master.
He has been known to take the blame, saving his crush from the wrath of
Messagog.
Zeltrax, like many creatures before him, has a deep
dislike for Tommy Oliver. He and the Black Ranger do battle at every possible
occasion. The cyborg would give anything to wipe his rival off the face
of the Earth. During their battles, he often made reference to revenge,
though refused to explain his motives to Tommy. They spent months locked
in battle with no known reason behind it.
After much time passed, the truth behind their feud
was revealed. Zeltrax's given named was Terrance Smith. He was at one point,
a scientist who was up for the same job as Tommy at Mercer Industries.
When Tommy was given the position, Smith found work elsewhere. His experiments,
however, soon turned fatal. They claimed his life, but he was then given
a second chance. Messagog found him and reconstructed him in the form of
a cyborg; Zeltrax. His memories are intact, yet his body was destroyed.
This is why Zeltrax demenstrates such blind loyalty toward his master.
He sees Messagog as a father. He is the reason Zeltrax is alive today and
thus, the warrior has pledged his eternal service to him. His hatred for
Tommy stems from the fact that he blames the Ranger for his death. In his
eyes, Tommy was granted the job that was meant for him. After which, Zeltrax
vowed to get revenge upon him, no matter what it took.
