Ecliptor entered
the series on the third episode of PRIS. At first, not a lot was known
about him. Except that Andros had met him before and feared him. It was
not until the arival of Darcona that we began to know the real Ecliptor.
He warned Astronema about him from the very beginning. As it turns out,
the two of them hate each other for unknown reasons.
In season 2,
it was revealed that Ecliptor was the one who raised Astronema. He found
her own his door step and took care of her ever since. He trained her to
be a warrior and was even willing to go against Dark Spector for her. In
"Secret of the Locket", Astronema's trust of Ecliptor was tested when she
found out he had lied to her. He told her that her parents and her brother
were killed by the Power Rangers. But he knew the truth the whole time.
Luckily though, she forgave him because he only did it to make sure she
stayed with him.
In the finale
of the series, Ecliptor's feelings for Astronema were put out in the open
when he saw her lifeless body on the floor of the Dark Fortress. He tried
to fight Andros, but ended up falling to the ground beside her in a truely
touching scene. In the end, he was destroyed by Zordon's wave of energy.

Ecliptor is IMO one of the characters
that prove PR can be more than a kids' show. That kind of depth in a character
is what keeps me interested in the show. :)
